Providing the perfect spray tan
The amazing benefits of our organic solutions will give you 10X smoother skin, 2x faster drying time, hypoallergenic and allergen free, 100% vegan and PETA approved. DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) the colorless key ingredient in all spray tans, is responsible for the natural chemical reaction that causes the darkening of the skin. Solutions carry a bronzer component which will wash off after the first wash. Don’t fret! The DHA kicks in and your tan will begin to develop over the next 24 to 48 hours and last 7-10 days. To sustain your tropical glow you need proper after care with moisturizers we carry here at Utopia. For the most even sunless tan we recommend booking two days prior to your event and follow the online pre-appointment prep.
Spray Tan Prep:
Step 1: Do all spa services prior to your spray tan (mani’s, pedi’s, lashes, facials, wax, permanent makeup, etc).
Step 2: Wash and condition your hair, wax or shave 24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment.
Step 3: Exfoliate-Be gentle! Use an oil free exfoliator. This process helps to buff away dead skin cells before the actual spray tan.
Step 4: No Lotions, No Deodorant. No Fragrances. The day of your appointment skip both! Lotions create a barrier blocking the solution from absorbing into the skin evenly. Deodorants on the skin will turn the armpits green! No one wants that!
Step 5: Ask your consultant about using a pH balancing spray prior to your spray tan.
Step 6: Do NOT wear tight clothing, light colored clothing, hats, bracelets, necklaces, close toed shoes, or any type of clothing that will rub against your skin and ruin the spray tan. DO wear (or bring) dark loose fitting clothes!
Step 7: Bring a towel for your car. During the warmer months, sweating can ruin your freshly sprayed tan. Though our organic solutions don’t rub off on fabrics, we still recommend this step.
Spray Tan After Care:
*No working out, sweating, getting rained on if possible. Our Rapid Tan solutions can set in 1-4 hours depending on desired color.
*Shower at the time set by your consultant. Rinse off the bronzer in the shower using water ONLY! No soaps, no wash cloths, shaving, or shampooing hair. All of these can interfere with the set time of the solution.
*Pat skin dry after shower. Avoid rubbing your skin.
*Choose oil-free moisturizers.
*Aluminum is not your armpits friend! Using deodorant with aluminum can react by producing a green color. That green color does last awhile.
*Your Spray Tan can last 7-10 days. Caring properly for your skin will Prolong your beautiful color. Make sure to moisturize daily, try to avoid chlorinated pools and hot tubs. Failure to moisturize can create cracked and dry skin and the tan will become uneven.

Disclaimer
16-18 years of age require a legal guardian waiver signed prior to UV Tanning. Spray Tans for 17 and younger will require an adult present during session. Though we love your littles and your teens, we are unable to watch children during our busy day. We can’t be liable nor responsible for them. Our salon prides itself on being a respice and place of relaxation for our clients. We do thank you for your understanding!
